Product Overview
Team Digital products provide a variety of functions for your Digital Command Control (DCC) model railroad. You can remotely control turnouts (switches), detect the presense of a train and control signals and crossing gates. There are two general categories. One is a DCC accessory decoder sometimes called a stationary decoder. It receives its instructions from the DCC signal that is present on the track rails. It may or may not be powered from the track. Another is not a DCC accessory decoder because it can not be controlled via the DCC track signal. However, it requires a DCC system for operation and programming.
A switch (turnout) machine is an electromechanical device that moves a lever or arm when a voltage is applied. They are used to remotely control switches (turnouts). Some machines like a twin coil solenoid require more power than other types like a Tortoise™ machine. See Switch Machines for more information.

All Team Digital products are ready to use right out of the box. Several of Team Digital products are programable and need not be programmed to operate. However, programability provides for enhanced features and customized operation. Configuration Variables (CVs) provide the means for customized operation. “Smart” programming is a term used to describe a method to easily program CVs. The concept of Smart programming is to facilitate configuring the product without having to actually program CVs using the programming track. The CVs required to be programmed are automatically done by just using switch commands from the throttle.
